Second Time Is The Charm

When I first interviewed Gesine Bullock-Prado on New Books Network for her earlier book My Vermont Table, I completely fangirled. I had read her memoir Confections of a Closet Master Baker years before and even reviewed it for WETA’s Book Studio, back when that was still a thing. So yes, when she popped up on my Zoom screen for that very first podcast interview, I was more than a little star-struck.

Fast forward to our latest chat about her new book, My Harvest Kitchen: 100+ Recipes to Savor the Seasons, and I’d like to think I’ve settled into my host’s chair a bit more comfortably. The conversation still has that same spark, with Gesine talking about the rhythm of the seasons, the joy of baking, and the connection between garden and table, but this time it feels like a reunion of sorts.

It’s warm, funny, and full of food-love - as well as admiration for indoor plumbing. Worth a listen on several fronts. Check it out here.
